AMSIMR AWARDS 2015-16 were presented on April 30, 2016 to honour the services and efforts of people in various categories. Shri. Jyotindra Desai, a renowned Teacher and Social Reformer, who has received awards such as Sarvashri Gold Medal and Life Fellowship 2003, Dronacharya Award 1996, National Award 1986 and National Foundation for Teachers’ Welfare Award 1986 was the Chief Guest.
Shri. Desai emphasised the role of teachers in social transformation of the youth and society. He urged the students to be academically focused and concentrate on their careers from an early stage of life to become successful. Mr. Atul Khule secured Eco-Friendly Ganpati Award 2015 for his efforts to maintain environmental balance by using eco-friendly idol, decoration and immersion.
Gurukul College of Commerce, Ghatkopar (East) secured Inter-Collegiate Quiz Award 2016 for their participation and performance. Social Impact Award 2016 was given to Mr. Krushna Aadilkar, Health Social Worker of Vandana Cancer Trust. He has formerly received ‘Excellence Award’ from the Cancer Patients Aid Association, Mumbai and Indian Cancer Society for supporting cancer patients.
Women Entrepreneurship Award 2016 was presented to Dr. Kinjal Chandra, Founder of Pehel Pediatric Therapy Centre which caters to children with developmental disabilities. Previously, she was selected as ‘100 Women Achievers of India’ and was honoured by the President of India Hon. Shri. Pranab Mukherjee. She was earlier felicitated by Rotary Club, Lions Club and Bhanushali Samaj.
