Industrial Visit to Ahmedabad was organized during February 17-20, 2016. The places of academic importance visited include textile giant Arvind Limited, epicenter of Indian management education Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, a prominent filling and packaging firm KHS Machinery Pvt. Ltd. and a leading management forum Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA).
Brief information was provided about Arvind Limited, its products, processes, policies and training programmes such as I-RISE, I-GNITE, I-LEAD and I-NSPIRE for various categories of employees. At KHS Machinery Pvt. Ltd., knowledge could be gained about the company, its products, operations, core competencies, culture and values, people centric activities and nurturing relationships.
The campus, library, classrooms, auditoriums and the serene environment at IIM Ahmedabad proved the high standard it maintains as a leading management institute. Brief review was provided of its teaching pedagogy, and management professionals and Directors who were great visionaries. Visit to AMA became impressive due to its campus, library, academic activities, facilities and types of events.
The tour became additionally memorable and enjoyable also because of the visit to historically important sightseeing locations such as the magnificent Kankaria Lake, emotional Sabarmati Ashram which is Gandhi Memorial Museum, strongly and beautifully maintained Sabarmati River, traditionally significant archeological site Adalaj Step-well and glorious Akshardham Temple, among others.
