The Marathi Bhasha Divas celebration was a vibrant event aimed at promoting the richness and cultural heritage of the Marathi language. The program featured various cultural performances and activities, making it a memorable occasion for all attendees. The event began with a welcome address by Prof. Parth Bal, who highlighted the significance of Marathi Bhasha Divas.
This was followed by inspirational and interesting speeches by the chief guests, Mr. Galande and Dr. Sable, emphasizing the importance of Marathi language and the importance of preserving our core values, which we learned in our young days.
The first-year students presented an energetic Lezim performance, showcasing traditional dance movements and synchronized steps that filled the venue with enthusiasm and excitement.
Second-year students showed a presentation on chief Marathi festivals, including Ganesh Chaturthi, Gudi Padwa, Makar Sankranti, and others. The informative presentation highlighted the cultural significance and rituals associated with each festival. Second-year students performed a graceful Manglagaur dance, celebrating the old traditions of Maharashtra. The rhythmic choreography and colorful attire added to the festive atmosphere. A short film highlighting the valuable contributions from notable Marathi female personalities was also presented.
Last but not least, a beautiful melodious Marathi song was sung by Prof. Shahid Sir. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the song performance. Prof. Parth Bal concluded the event with a heartfelt closing note, expressing gratitude to all participants, students, and staff for their contributions.
Pot Lunch: The celebration ended with a pot lunch featuring traditional Marathi delicacies brought by first- and second-year students. The spread included popular dishes like Puran Poli, Misal, Ghavne, Sheera, Mas Wadi, Kothimbir Wadi,
Alu Wadi, Thalipeeth, and many more, offering a delicious taste of Marathi cuisine. The event ended after the pot lunch.
