Aruna Manharlal Shah Institute of Management & Research celebrated World Environment Day on the 5th June, 2025 with a virtual event held on the Zoom platform and the theme for the event was #BeatPlasticPollution. The event began with a welcome speech by Prof. Sonali Prajapati, who highlighted the importance of protecting our planet and reducing plastic waste & stated the fact that this year, South Korea is the global host, promoting innovative ways to fight plastic pollution. Prof. Francis Lobo, Green Club in-charge shared insights on how individuals can make a difference through conscious choices for themselves & environment. Director Dr. Iram Shaikh addressed the gathering with an encouraging message on sustainable living from the past practices that were followed in earlier times. As part of the celebration, a Reel Making Competition was organized by the Institute Innovation Council and Green Club. Students presented creative videos spreading awareness about plastic pollution & the ways to combat it. The winning entries were from Vinay Bhongale (1st), Sachin Kaswe (2nd), and Rohit Hatkar (3rd). Prof. Prajapati also addressed students with a simple message about caring for nature and taking everyday action & ended the event with a heartfelt vote of thanks and a group photo to mark the occasion.
